Ina Brown Bond
Board of Directors
Mrs. Ina Brown Bond began a Thoroughbred breeding operation, River Bend Farm, Inc., in 1990. Since that time she has twice sold the second highest priced yearling at the September Keeneland sale. Recently, she has formed Ashbourne Farms LLC that breeds commercial beef cattle and grows agricultural crops. She was on the PNC Bank of Kentucky Board of Directors for 13 years. Currently, she is serving on the board of The J. Graham Brown Foundation. Mrs. Bond is president of the W. L. Lyons Brown Foundation and chairman emeritus of the board of the Muhammad Ali Center. She recently retired as Director of Brown-Forman Corp.
For the last 25 years, Mrs. Bond has served the Louisville community by leadership and board of director positions for such organizations as the Community Foundation of Louisville, Bellarmine College, The Kentucky Humanities Council, The Family Place, The Nature Conservancy, the Alliant Health System (now Norton), the Council for Basic Education in Washington, D.C. and the Waterfront Development Commission. She was also chairman of the Regional Red Cross Board of Directors and chair of the 1988 Metro United Way Campaign, president of the Junior League of Louisville as well as vice chairman of the 1989 Bellarmine Capital Campaign. In addition, in 1997 Mrs. Bond was chairman of the Red Cross National Convention. She was in the Leadership Louisville Class of 1984. In 2006 she received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from Bellarmine University.
Mrs. Bond attended Sweet Briar College and is a graduate of the University of Colorado.
