How We Use and Protect Client Information

The Glenview Trust Company values customer privacy.  As an organization in the financial services industry, we recognize that privacy is critical.  Our policy concerning the collection and disclosure of nonpublic personal information regarding our current, past and future clients is set forth below. We have no affiliates, and we never share a client’s information for marketing purposes.  This privacy policy is updated annually, mailed to clients and posted on the company website.

Information Collected

As The Glenview Trust Company works with its clients to achieve their investment and financial goals, those clients share personal and financial information with us.  The Company collects such information about its clients from the information furnished in account applications and other forms and from client transactions.  For example, the personal and financial information received from a client may include their name, address, e-mail address, assets, income, account balances, banking arrangements and social security numbers. The Company collects this information to provide services and properly handle the client’s account.

Access to Information

It is the policy of The Glenview Trust Company that client information is highly confidential and is used only to service the client’s account or to comply with the company’s reporting and oversight responsibilities.  We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to guard the client’s nonpublic personal information.  All personnel are annually instructed to comply with the company’s confidentiality rules which are designed to protect personal and financial information.  Access to a client’s information is limited to those employees who provide trust and investment management services or to those who maintain those services.

Use and Disclosure of Information

The Glenview Trust Company may use a client’s personal and financial information in order to provide that client with trust and investment services, improve those services, implement security measures and fight fraud.  We will not sell client information to any outside party. The company uses custodians, transfer agents, securities brokers, outside auditors and accountants, and other third parties to conduct many aspects of business: for transactions such as opening an account, receiving assets, processing the purchase or sale of investments and numerous other transactions that a client might request. The company may disclose any of the personal and financial information that it collects from a client with these other third party businesses. These businesses must agree to only use this information for the services for which the company hired them and are not permitted to use or share this information for any other purpose.

Internet Account Privacy 

When a client registers his or her computer and uses the company online account review link, called Portfolio Online, a small bit of information called a cookie is placed on that computer.  This information is used to remember the computer’s name, speed up the login process and verify security.  This information is only used to provide or improve service.  It is never used for marketing purposes.

Email Not Encrypted

Clients and prospects are reminded that The Glenview Trust Company email system is not encrypted.  Therefore, they are advised not to mail confidential information that includes such things as social security numbers and account numbers.

Medical and Health Information 

The Glenview Trust Company does not routinely hold client medical or health information, but may receive such information in the administration of an account if asked to pay medical bills or process health insurance claim on a client’s behalf.  This medical or health information is not shared except as necessary to process transactions or to provide services requested or initiated. A client’s medical or health information is not used or disclosed for any other purpose.

Required Disclosures

Occasionally, The Glenview Trust Company may be required to provide information about a client and a client’s transactions to governmental agencies, self-regulatory organizations, industry associations and similar bodies in order to fulfill legal and regulatory requirements.  In addition, The Glenview Trust Company is subject to laws that may give people involved in lawsuits and other legal proceedings the right to obtain information from us, including a client’s personal and financial information. The Glenview Trust Company will comply with these laws to the extent required to do so.
