Tawana Edwards has more than 35 years of experience and expertise in all aspects of fiduciary law; including personal trusts, estate planning and trust and estate administration. She is the Co-Chief Executive Officer, Chief Fiduciary Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of The Glenview Trust Company. She is secretary of the Corporation and has served as such since its inception in 2001. She graduated with honors from the University of Louisville where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in History. She received her juris doctorate at the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law and was honored as an Outstanding Law Alumnae in 1990 and received the Lawrence Grauman Alumni Award in 2018.
Tawana is an active member of the Louisville, Kentucky and American Bar Associations. She is a past chair for the Probate Section of both the Kentucky and Louisville Bar Associations. She served on the Board of the Louisville Bar Association and also chaired the Legislative Committee of the Kentucky Bar Association’s Probate Section. She is a frequent speaker at trust and estate related continuing legal education seminars and has published articles on trust administration and related topics.
Prior to joining The Glenview Trust Company, Tawana was senior vice president and managing director of PNC Bank’s personal trust and investment advisory division in Kentucky and Indiana; at one point in her employment with PNC, she also managed their employee benefits group. Earlier in her career, she was with a large regional law firm concentrating in the areas of trust administration, probate and estate planning.
Ms. Edwards is active in many professional organizations and community leadership. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Fund for the Arts, as the Co-Chair of the Grants Committee. In addition, she serves on the Board of Directors for the Kentucky Horse Park Foundation.
