Mr. W. Austin Musselman, Jr. is the owner and manager of Ashbourne Farms, a 2,250-acre third generation working farm in La Grange, Kentucky that he completely restored as a luxury event and outdoor sporting destination. He divides his time among several endeavors, including service as managing member of White Oak Investments LLC, a private holding company and a family office, where he actively manages several of its business interests. He also participated in numerous development projects, including apartments, condominiums and mixed-use properties in Louisville’s downtown and Highlands neighborhoods. His entrepreneurial spirit emerged after graduating college in Colorado, where he was the co-founder and manager of a bakery and deli franchise. He assisted in the development and sale of 12 store franchises and personally developed and managed two stores.
Mr. Musselman has served in leadership roles in the Louisville community through numerous philanthropic, civic and preservation-based organizations and activities. He has served on the Brown-Forman/Brown Family Shareholders Committee as well as the Brown-Forman Major Gifts Committee. In addition, he is also an active volunteer and member of several organizations, including: Vice Chair of the Bluegrass Land Conservancy Board of Directors, American Farmland Trust President Council and the Mockingbird Valley Preservation Association. He has also served numerous organizations in the past, including: Kentucky Educational Television Louisville Regional Board, The Sportsmen’s Alliance Board of Directors, President of Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest Board of Trustees, Kentucky Country Day Board of Directors and as the Chairman of the Kentucky Chapter of Nature Conservancy Board of Directors.
