Tawana Edwards has more than 40 years of experience and expertise in all aspects of fiduciary law; including financial institutions acting as fiduciaries, personal trusts, estate planning and trust and estate administration. She served as the Co-Chief Executive Officer of Glenview Trust Company from 2011-2020, as Chief Fiduciary Officer from 2001-2020 and as Secretary of the Corporation since its inception in 2001, until her retirement in 2020.
Ms. Edwards graduated with honors from the University of Louisville where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in History. She received her juris doctorate at the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law and was honored as an Outstanding Law Alumnae in 1990 and received the Lawrence Grauman Alumni Award in 2018.
Ms. Edwards is an active member of the Louisville and Kentucky Bar Associations. She is a past chair for the Probate Section of both the Kentucky and Louisville Bar Associations. She served on the Board of the Louisville Bar Association and chaired the Legislative Committee of the Kentucky Bar Association’s Probate Section. She is a frequent speaker at trust and estate related continuing legal education seminars and has published articles on trust administration and related topics. She has served as a member of the University of Kentucky Midwest-Midsouth Estate Planning Institute Steering Committee since 1991.
Active in many professional organizations and community leadership. Ms. Edwards is a past Board chair of Women 4 Women Inc. and recently completed ten years of service on the Board of Directors for the Fund for the Arts, as Co-Chair of the Grants Committee; and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Kentucky Horse Park Foundation, chairing the Grants Committee.
