Walt Koczot has 37 years of experience in the financial services industry with the last 24 years concentrated in the areas of personal trust administration, estate administration and estate planning. He has worked with a variety of tax saving and gifting programs and specialized issues such as Delaware asset protection trusts and trust reformations. At Glenview Trust his focus is in the areas of personal trust administration and estate planning.
Prior to joining Glenview Trust Walt was with J.P. Morgan’s Private Bank where he held the position of Vice President and Senior Trust Officer for the Kentucky market. His professional banking career began at Citizens Fidelity Bank and Trust Company where he transitioned to trusts and estates work after the Bank’s merger with PNC Bank. He also worked at Branch Banking and Trust Co (now Truist) serving as Vice President and Personal Trust Specialist.
A native of Buffalo, New York, Walt obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from the State University of New York at Fredonia and his Juris Doctor at the Western New England University School of Law. After graduation from law school, he gained admission to the Bar in New York and Kentucky. He is also a graduate of the American Bankers Association National Graduate Trust School.
Walt is a member of the Louisville Bar Association Probate Section, the Kentucky Bar Association and the Estate Planning Council of Metro Louisville. He has also served on the Board of the Louisville Urban League, the Louisville Bar Association Investment Committee and the Board of Trustees of the Harvey Browne Memorial Presbyterian Church Foundation
